“TALES OF DOWNTOWN HIGH” SFAC 2012– Students at Downtown High School learned the power of descriptive writing, prioritizing background details and apex of their story. Works from Ralph Steadman, Gothic cathedral stained-glass windows and Junji Ito were shared with students as examples of illustrations reliant on descriptive writing. Ara worked with the students, consolidating each story into a singular black-and-white image as well as illustrating the cover. The collective stories were published and printed as “Tales from Downtown High School " by the San Francisco Arts Commission.
"10 DIGITZ” ARA JO 2011 – 10-page bilingual coloring book of life-size hand/nail drawings.
